Cashback terms and conditions

Once you have purchased your Over 50s Life Insurance policy via Cavendish Online and have paid all monthly premiums for the first 8 months, you will then start to receive your cashback. Cavendish Online receive commission from the Insurer but will only keep £40 of this commission. Cavendish Online will pay the rest of the commission payable to customers as cashback (subject to the terms and conditions below). The amount of cashback payable can be seen when you complete a quote.

Royal London over 50s life insurance

If you take out a Royal London Over 50 Life Insurance policy through Cavendish Online, you will have the choice to receive a gift of £300 in 4 instalments over the first 3 years of your policy. This gift will be redeemable as either Amazon.co.uk e-gift cards or cash via cheques (the ‘Gift Choice Offer’). Each instalment will be redeemable after month 8, 16, 24 and 32 payments (the Defined Payments) have been made. The Gift Choice Offer will be fulfilled by Royal London and is only available if you meet these terms and conditions.

The following terms and conditions will apply

  • The Gift Choice Offer applies to new Royal London Over 50 Life Insurance policies taken out through Cavendish Online only. Policies taken out another way, for example directly with Royal London or via a financial adviser, are not eligible for the Gift Choice Offer. The Gift Choice Offer does not apply to any other Royal London product, including those taken out through Cavendish Online unless otherwise stated.
  • To receive the Gift Choice Offer you must be eligible for and agree to take out:
    • a Royal London Over 50 Life Insurance policy with a minimum monthly payment of £7. The Gift Choice Offer is not available if Royal London do not offer you a policy; and
    • pay the Defined Payments to receive each gift instalment; and
    • provide us with your gift choice selection as explained in ‘How to make your gift choice selection’ below.
  • If you cancel your Royal London Over 50 Life Insurance policy before you have paid each of the Defined Payments, you will not qualify for the next instalment of the Gift Choice Offer. If you were to die before you have paid each of the Defined Payments, you will not qualify for the next instalment of the Gift Choice Offer.
  • The Gift Choice Offer is subject to restrictions imposed by Amazon.co.uk if selected, for details see www.amazon.co.uk/gc-legal
  • If you have chosen to receive a gift card, no cash alternative will be offered.
  • We reserve the right to amend or withdraw the Gift Choice Offer at any time before you agree to take out Royal London Over 50 Life Insurance.
  • The Gift Choice Offer is limited to one per policy sold and to two Gift Choice Offers per household. You are not entitled to use the Gift Choice Offer together with any other gifts or offers given by us or Royal London.
  • If you take out a Royal London Over 50 Life Insurance policy via us you will not be entitled to this Gift Choice Offer if you have previously taken out a Royal London Over 50 Life Insurance policy via us, directly with Royal London, or via another 3rd party and received a gift with that policy, if that policy has been cancelled within the past 12 months.
  • We may cancel the Gift Choice Offer should we discover, or have a reasonable suspicion to believe, that the terms of the Gift Choice Offer are being abused.
  • In the unlikely event that we are unable to fulfil your Gift Choice Offer, we will contact you to let you know. We will send you a different gift, which will be of an equal or greater value to the one selected.
  • The Gift Choice Offer is not open to employees or contractors of Cavendish Online, the Royal London Mutual Insurance Society Limited or any of its subsidiary companies.
  • Royal London will administer the Gift Choice Offer on our behalf through the Marketing Lounge Partnership Limited who will provide you with e-gift cards or cash (via cheques) via an online gift portal. Royal London will be required to share some data, such as your policy number and your name and address, with the Marketing Lounge Partnership Limited to enable them to fulfil the Gift Choice Offer. How to make your gift choice selection and receive your gift:

  • You can make your gift choice selection by using the online gift portal, the joining instructions for which will be emailed to you.
  • You will receive an email with access to the online gift portal within 9 days of each of the Defined Payments. This will provide instructions on selection and redemption of your gift.
  • The online gift portal will be accessible for 90 days after receipt of the email. If you don’t make your gift choice selection (and redeem the e-gift card or cash, if selected) within 90 days, you will no longer be able to claim the Gift Choice Offer.
  • The online gift portal will only provide access to the e-gift card and cash gifts.
  • The way in which you receive your gift will depend on the gift selected:

4x £75 e-gift cards from Amazon.co.uk:

  • You must select and redeem your e-gift cards by following the steps on the online gift portal.
  • Once the e-gift card is redeemed you will be informed of the relevant retailer’s specific terms and conditions around the use and validity of the e-gift card.

4x £75 cash paid by cheque:

  • If you choose to receive your Gift Choice Offer as cash, this will be provided to you by cheque and sent in the post to the address of the policy holder. You’ll typically receive your cheque around 3 weeks after you’ve made each of your 8 monthly payments.
  • The cheque will be made out in the policy holder’s name. As the policy holder, you will need to have a bank account open in your own name, to be able to bank the cheque.
  • The cheque will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue and should be cashed within this period of time. After this time has passed, you will not be able to cash your cheque.
  • If you cannot bank a cheque in your own name, you should not choose to receive the Gift Choice Offer as cash.

One Family over 50s life insurance

If you take out a One Family Over 50 Life Insurance policy through Cavendish Online, you will have 4 instalments over the first 3 years of your policy. Each instalment will be redeemable after month 8, 16, 24 and 32 payments (the Defined Payments) have been made. The amount of each instalment will be the confirm cashback amount divided equally by four.

The following terms and conditions will apply

  • The cashback applies to new One Family Over 50 Life Insurance policies taken out through Cavendish Online only. Policies taken out another way, for example directly with One Family or via a financial adviser, are not eligible.
  • To receive the cashback offer you must be eligible for and agree to take out:
    • a One Family Over 50 Life Insurance policy with a minimum monthly payment of £7. The Gift Choice Offer is not available if One Family do not offer you a policy; and
    • pay the Defined Payments to receive each gift instalment; and
  • If you cancel your One Family Over 50 Life Insurance policy before you have paid each of the Defined Payments, you will not qualify for the next instalment. If you were to die before you have paid each of the Defined Payments, you will not qualify for the next instalment.
  • We reserve the right to amend or withdraw the offer at any time before you agree to take out One Family Over 50 Life Insurance. We may do so where we are required for legal or regulatory reasons, for the prevention of financial crime, or where we want to make a new offer available to you or make a reasonable change that isn’t unfavourable.
  • We may cancel the offer should we discover, or have a reasonable suspicion to believe, that the terms of the offer are being abused.

Receiving your cheque

  • You’ll typically receive your cheque around 3 weeks after you’ve made each of your 8 monthly payments.
  • The cheque will be made out in the policy holder’s name. As the policy holder, you will need to have a bank account open in your own name, to be able to bank the cheque.
  • The cheque will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue and should be cashed within this period of time. After this time has passed, you will not be able to cash your cheque.
  • If you cannot bank a cheque in your own name, you should not choose to receive the offer as cash.

Shepherds Friendly Over 50s life insurance

If you take out a Shepherds Friendly Over 50 Life Insurance policy through Cavendish Online, you will have 4 instalments over the first 3 years of your policy. Each instalment will be redeemable after month 8, 16, 24 and 32 payments (the Defined Payments) have been made. The amount of each instalment will be the confirm cashback amount divided equally by four.

The following terms and conditions will apply

  • The cashback applies to new Shepherds Friendly Over 50 Life Insurance policies taken out through Cavendish Online only. Policies taken out another way, for example directly with Shepherds Friendly or via a financial adviser, are not eligible.
  • To receive the cashback offer you must be eligible for and agree to take out:
    • a Shepherds Friendly Over 50 Life Insurance policy with a minimum monthly payment of £7. The Gift Choice Offer is not available if Shepherds Friendly do not offer you a policy; and
    • pay the Defined Payments to receive each gift instalment; and
  • If you cancel your Shepherds Friendly Over 50 Life Insurance policy before you have paid each of the Defined Payments, you will not qualify for the next instalment. If you were to die before you have paid each of the Defined Payments, you will not qualify for the next instalment.
  • We reserve the right to amend or withdraw the offer at any time before you agree to take out Shepherds Friendly Over 50 Life Insurance.
